The pendant consists of an openwork triangular silver plaque with a pair of plique-a-jour enameled mistletoe leaves below a band of opals and above a band of brilliant green moldavites, themselves over a square-cut pink tourmaline suspending a semi-baroque pearl drop. The whole is suspended from a round brilliant cut pink tourmaline set in gold. The combination of colored gemstones is lovely and nicely accents the enamel...

I could never exaggerate the sparkle of the two big, faceted color-change sapphires that adorn the opposing “wings” forming the face of the modernist Enrique Ledesma Mexican hinged bracelet at hand! Set here against untreated sterling (quite often, Ledesma uses niello-type oxidation to enhance the contrast between gemstone and silver) the stones pass from amethyst to a steely purple under different light conditions thus mimicking the behavior of alexandrites...

Absolutely exquisite 970 silver, onyx and moonstone necklace and matching screw back earrings by Taxco Master silversmith Antonio Pineda. Magnificent design and construction, this is a rare necklace measuring 16"end to end and 1"wide. It has 21 crescent shaped onyx stones and 21 round moonstones, a very striking contrast. The clasp is a silver crescent. The matching earrings measure 1 1/4" long. The necklace is in fine original condition with no chips or cracks to the stones...

Impressive in size this vintage Janna Thomas Mexican silver pendant is an example of the "pluma Azteca" technique which incorporates vividly colored bird feathers in sterling jewelry. Very reminiscent of plique-a-jour work, "pluma Azteca" was introduced by the Los Castillo workshop and it is a demanding, difficult process so it was emulated by just a handful of other Taxco maestros. Thomas excelled in it, however, and her pieces are sought after by knowledgeable collectors...

This lovely bracelet exhibits quality workmanship. It features nine linked discs decorated with exquisite bands of turquoise enamel work embedded with metal strands, possibly silver. Each disc is ringed by intricately embossed frames of flowers and leaves. The double-hook clasp is very secure. The bracelet measures 7 inches long. It is unmarked except for the word ‘Silver’ impressed on each end disc; the silver tests definitely as sterling. Dating would be around 1950...

This delicate, charming silver gilt bar pin features lavender guilloche enamel work surrounded by a thin border of black enamel and a milligrain-like textured edge. Three circles of white enamel grace each end of the pin. The pin bears the mark of Marius Hammer, Bergen, Norway (1847-1927), and dates to the early 20th century. The original C-clasp has been expertly replaced; the piece retains its original pin stem. It measures 1 5/8 inches long by a little over ¼ inch wide at the center.

These delicate sterling silver pendant earrings have scrolled frames supporting small teardrops. They are designed in the tradition of solje jewelry from Norway. Excellent, elegant circa 1940s necklace by William Spratling, arguably the most important name in Mexican Silver. Heavy for it's size, this solid liquid silver necklace is constructed of hollow silver bars over seven silver chains of variying lengths. This design is understated, and extremely rare. The shortest chain measures just under 15" in length. The necklace is authentic and bears Spratling's circa 1940s stamp. Excellent vintage condition.
