A vintage large sterling silver Mid Century Modernist brooch by Ed Wiener in the shape of a five pointed star.
Made from thick sterling wire. Unsigned, as were most of his star brooches. We believe this one is the larger version.
Measures 3 1/8" across and 2" high.
Has a rollover safety clasp that holds securely. There may be a slight bend on the long arm, may be original to the piece. Has some minor surface scratches and tarnish.
Fine craftsmanship. Great studio piece
Circa 1940-1945, this pin was produced by Los Castillo. It's an early piece which was designed by Margot van Voorhies Carr / Margot de Taxco.
This is a superbly crafted piece, showing a koi fish swimming atop a blue glass stone which is filled with bubbles...
This rare inlaid sterling silver belt buckle was designed & signed circa 1950's by modernist Taxco, Mexico artist Antonio Pineda. The buckle measures 5 1/4" across X 2 1/4" high & weighs 137 grams. The "eclipse" design is inlaid with black onyx and accented with copper wash. The wearable length of the belt with buckle is 32". The leather strap is 29" inches long, 1" high in front & gradually widens to 2" at the back. It can be adjusted up or down as neither side is sewn in place...
This band ring is 3/8" wide. It is a size 9. It has a nice oxidized background and patina. It is marked MEXICO MA and has the eagle / assay mark that is hard to make out. This piece is in excellent condition.
A sturdily cast piece, this leaf pin is formed as seven fronds with incised veins that are enhanced by oxidation. It has a safety clasp and is marked sterling on the back. It measures 3 inches by 2 1/2 inches at its widest part.
This Antonio Pineda "Silver by Toño" hallmark dates 1948-1953. It's a timeless design. elegant and classy, which works with any outfit and is quite flattering.
Measures a closed, wearable length of about 6 7/8". Width is 3/4".
Closes with a pin on a chain.
Weight is 50.1 grams.
Signed and hallmarked "Silver by Toño Mexico".

A third design period sterling silver and tortoise cuff bracelet by William Spratling.
This cuff measures 5 1/4" around with an opening of 1 1/4". Measures 1 5/8" at the widest. Marked with the script WS and 925, Spratling Taxco Mexico in a circle mark, and Eagle #30. The tortoise is in fine condition with very minor scratches. The end rivet is out a little more than the rest. The finish near the seams is a bit irregular. Has some tarnish and some very small nicks along the edge...
The Arts and Crafts is one of my favorite periods in jewelry design - emphasis on motifs from nature, design that focuses on craftsmanship while allowing the viewer to follow the artisan's hand, "honest" materials without necessarily seeking out the most expensive metals and gemstones, it was a real break with the fussy excesses of Victorian aesthetics. An unusual Taxco Mexican sterling silver pendant and chain, with a central Pre Columbian carved green frog by the noted female jeweler, Bernice Goodspeed.
The pendant measures 1 1/2" long and 1 1/8" across. The very detailed chain measures about 15 1/2" long. Hook closure. Marked on the back Sterling Taxco around the stylized 'B' for the artisan. Also marked with what looks like Eagle #28.

Circa mid-century, this Salvador Teran bracelet features a large amethyst cabochon set within a sterling silver ribbon and bow design. At least - that is my interpretation. A pair of vintage hammered sterling silver brooches from the American Studio Modernist jeweler, John Lewis, available in two sizes. Great hammered texture. Larger brooch measures about 1 3/4" across and 1 1/2" high. Smaller brooch measures 1 1/2" across and 1 3/8" high. Both pieces are marked Sterling and with the crossed JL mark of the artist.
