This Abstract Expressionist painting dates to 1957, and it has a partial signature on the lower left corner. It measures 38" x 28" and has a small amount of paint loss. Notice the bright and unique colors and with heavy inpasto brushwork. On 5/3/04, I presented this painting to the Roy Lichtenstein Foundation for review where I had a brief meeting with the assistant director. The painting was not confirmed, however, the painting will remain under review and evaluation...
Late 19th Century Oil on Canvas, 34" x 26". Portrait of a Gentleman (Not Signed). To date, I attribute this painting to have been painted by John Singer Sargent in 1880. This is a (not approved) portrait of a Philadelphia merchant named John White Fields. I named this portrait Merchant X by JSS. On 5/11/04 the Portrait was presented to the JSS Catalogue Raisonne Committee. On 5/13, the committee reported it could not attribute this portrait to JSS...
Folk Art Portrait by American Artist, attributed to Sheldon Peck (1797-1868). This Portrait was purchased at a North Carolina auction from the Larew Collection. The 19th century oil on canvas portrait of a gentleman was said to be Thomas Johnston from Concord, NC (Sept. 1850). It was marked on the original canvas (relined) bought in Davie County.
