Original 19th Century albumen photograph by Jean-Pascal Sebah (1872-1947) of the New Hotel in Cairo. Circa 1888-1895. Titled l.l. Signed in the plate l.r. Jean-Pascal was the son of Pascal Sebah (1823-1886) and took over the family studio in Constantinople in 1888. The studio specialized in scenes of Egypt and the Middle East.

Jean Charlot emigrated to Mexico in 1922 where he created woodcuts and lithographs depicting the Mexican people. This work was pulled in Colorado Springs in 1948 with master printer Lawrence Barrett.
