Made in 1987 as a commemorative piece of a Grand Chakin – a tea gathering that took place at Kinkaku-ji in 1980, with heads of 5 major tea schools present. The box is signed by potter and head of Sōkoku-ji sect Kajitani Sōnin 梶谷宗忍(1914 – 1995), because Murakaki Rōshi passed away before final firing was done...

A pastel and watercolor on paper drawing of a Native American Indian, unframed, 30" by 20", signed at lower right by the artist, the signature appearing as "F. Davis", and the adjacent date as 3/84. The artist was talented. Condition is good, lower left corner is separating from the Crescent art board backing, there having been some slight moisture exposure there at some time in the past.

A limited edition, pencil hand-signed print "Shepherd of the Plains", after a painting dated 1988, the print issued 1989, by the important contemporary artist of the American west, HOWARD TERPNING (1927-). The work measures 9" by 9 1/2" (image area), and 16 1/2" by 16 1/2" in attractive gold frame. The signature is at lower left, where the print is numbered 494/1250.
