This porcelain figural group was produced in Denmark by Royal Copenhagen in 1946. It has the number 1228 incised on the bottom. It is 7 1/4 inches high, 6 1/4 inches long, and 3 inches wide at the base. The fellow riding the goat is taken from the Hans Christian Anderson stories. This piece is cold painted in lifelike enamel paint by hand. The colors are rich and vibrant. This is a first quality porcelain in excellent condition.

Danish "Royal Copenhagen" Porcelain Boy with hat and umbrella, 6 1/4" high, 2 3/4" wide at the base, with "Royal Copenhagen" "Denmark" in green and blue color, with impressed numbers on the bottom. Bottom piece of the object he was holding with his hands is broken off, no other damages or restorations..

This three cup candelabra (which may be turned upside down) measures 5" tall and is 7 1/8" in length. On the underside of one of the cups is painted Sweden 26III; on another the Gustavsberg Studio hand insignia and the painter's mark of a star. The cups are hand painted in blue, yellow and red. Excellent condition.

A happily little soul evidently getting much pleasure from the clashing together two metal pot lids. She kneels with her feel tucked under, and her "cymbals" are held on high for maximum effect. Her cheeks are dimpled, her eyes are blue, and she wears a close-fitting brown bonnet, held in place under her chin by a huge pink-brown bow; her curled light brown hair can be seen at her forehead and cheeks...

Beautiful Danish porcelain dish by Royal Copenhagen with an applied blue crab. In pristine condition, it measures 9.5" long x 8.25" and 2.5" high. Dates early 1960.

This is one of the finest examples of Berndt Friberg's ceramic mastery that I have acquired since dealing from 1984. It has never been in a shop or auction, but has an important provenance and was procured directly from Friberg. It is without any flaws, which is extremely rare for a piece of this size. Magnificent in every way. It measures 15 3/4" and is 3 3/4' in diameter. Museum quality for the advanced collector.

A Danish stoneware jar by Per Linneman Schmidt for Palshus, 1960's. Cylindrical, the interior glazed in a speckled grey and brown, the exterior with a dark brown glaze, leaving some stripes and the horizontal border unglazed. Diameter "5¾/ 14,5 cm, height "3¼/ 8 cm. Incised marks Palshus, Denmark, PLS, 403 and painted D. Condition: fine.

This porcelain dish was produced in Denmark by Bing and Grondahl around 1950. The inventory number is 1167. It measures 7 1/2 inches long, 6 inches wide and 1 1/4 inches deep. The porcelain is quite substantial. The dish is molded in high relief with an art nouveau inspired design of stylized leaves and flowers. The color pallet is shades of blue, violet and brown. Cute little B&G baby bird with its mouth open looking to be fed. Number 1852 and measuring 2 1/2" tall x 2 1/2" wide, it is in perfect condition.

Nice triple relish ensemble by Axel Bruel (1900 - 1977), consisting of a trefoil-shaped centre piece with knob handle, and three plates. Decoration of vigorously painted flower sprigs in green over White, 1950's. Diameter of plates "6¾/ 17,5 cm, width of centerpiece "10¾/ 28 cm. Condition: a glaze flake to the edge of the knob, otherwise fine.

Vase by Danish manufacturer Hjorth, c 1920-30. Grey stoneware, decoration of Art Déco scroll work in “flow” copper red under beautifully crackled glaze. Probably by Hans Hjorth. The Hjorth Terracotta Factory, now part of the Bornholm museum, is still working in the same premises where it was founded in the 19th century, still using the same equipment. Impressed deer mark (Hjorth is Danish for deer). Height "5¼/ 13 cm. Condition: fine

This extraordinary and sensuous ceramic sculpture depicts a muscular young man embracing an exaggerated grape cluster. "Drunken Young Man", by Kai Nielsen for Bing & Gröndahl in Copenhagen. This sculpture was one of a series known as "Vinhosten" issued in 1912. Absolutely stunning and in mint condition. It measures 4½" (10.5cm). On the underside is incised KAI NIELSEN, 12, impressed is KOBENHAVN, B & G, the insignia of three houses. Impressed is 4024, 51C. Painted in black is Ø.775.

A remarkable bowl by Bengt Berglund. The interior is a shiny intense cobalt blue while the exterior is off white and black. The bowl measures 3 1/2" tall and is 7" in diameter. On the underside is stamped Gustavsberg and the artist's initials BB. Mint condition. SHIPPING INCLUDED.

Wonderful size and design, this mid century modernist tile is by Sylvia Leuchovius (Sweden 1915-2003) for Rorstrand Ceramic company, where she created numerous whimsical and creative objects from functional and industrial to art objects. Two beautiful and very thinly potted bowls by Sven Hofverberg in his experimental studio in south Sweden. One gold glazed to the interior, the other with an iridescent interior glaze in red and dark blue. The exterior of both with incised striations. The incisions of the smaller bowl are iridescent.
