Hammered silver sugar tongs from Martin Mayer in Mainz, Germany, c 1920-30. Martin Mayer’s firm, founded 1888, was a well-known manufacturer of silver cutlery and jewelry until it was confiscated by the Nazis in 1938. Peter Behrens, Hans Christiansen and Patriz Huber are known to have worked for Martin Mayer. An English sterling silver mustard pot dated 1920. This vintage fully hallmarked English sterling silver 2-3/8" tall footed round mustard pot with a handle was made in Chester in 1920-21. This table serving item has a hinged lid and a slot for a mustard spoon, and it has the original cobalt blue glass liner. It has a WV&S maker's mark for William Vale & Sons (registered 1895) and it has a weighted base for stability (with some later felt on the bottom)...
