An American Brass Occasional Table with a Circular Top Supported by a Base Formed by Three Entwined Dolphins. Height 28", Width 18". From the 1920's. One small dimple on the top, otherwise in excellent condition.

DESCRIPTION: A handsome pair of walnut wood Neoclassical style carved and stained candle prickets with circular tops above turned, tapered and fluted shafts with leaf tip ornaments, above swelled bases with splayed feet. Italian, 20th century; silver and gilt highlights on each. Unmarked, good condition. DIMENSIONS: Overall height 25.25".

A delightful French Art Deco cocktail pick set in the form of a carved rosewood cat arching his back to hiss at a little chrome snail. A wooden rack holds six chrome cocktail picks, each topped with a snail. All are presented on a macassar ebony base. Large, iron figural standing mirror, c.1870. Very decorative - cherubs, women fairies, flowers, hearts, & torch and arrows make up this intricately designed mirror - see photos. It measures 15" wide by 16" long and is extremely heavy. Metalwork is in excellent condition but mirror can use some re-silvering, if desired. Would sit on a dresser but has a back loop for hanging. This box, although not signed, appears to be done by DeVez. It has a lovely sceic enamel top of a house in the snow It also is decorated on the sides, and measures 2 1/2" tall x 3 1/2" wide. It is in perfect condition.

Lumière Collection from Galerie L'Enfant From an extensive collection of chamber sticks and lamps assembled over a 40 plus year period by Peter Macdonald. This Art Deco piece was likely produced circa 1920s. About the manufacturer, Unter Weiss Bach (from theoldstuff.com): The Porzellanfabrik Unterweißbach was founded in German region Thuringia in 1882 by Herman Jost. Initially they produced tableware but soon started to make fine figurines...

These Aladdin Jewel Case Parisian Bronze Lamps are 14 1/2" to the top of the finial. Both have new harps. There is some color highlights on the bronze that does not show in the pictures. Most of the color has worn off. The front of the base is 6 3/4" wide and 6" deep to the back leg. The animals on the top of the jewel case appear to be dragons.

A pair of (typically) unmarked Majestic Japanned wood and brass table lamps c1950s. The black painted wood includes the 7 x 4-1/2" base with a crescent moon mounted on the brass upright with a brass ball separating it from the base. They stand 17-1/2" tall including the 12 x 6-1/2" shades, which are of fiberglass with plastic stringing on the borders and a wire cage for mounting on the lightbulb. They have their original cords with Leviton sockets with inspection stickers, and both lamps work...

A fine quality water pot for use on the scholars desk. The porcelain is very white and translucent. The fine blue art work shows two five toed dragons chasing the flaming pearl. There is a six character Guangxu Dynasty mark on the base, but it is not the mark used by the Royal Kiln. As the pot is not Imperial Ware we believe it was made during the Republic Period in Guangxu Style...

This is an unusual rectangular bronze casket-form in ornate Gothic Revival style, having cast bas relief, highly decorated with religious motif illustrating scenes from the life of Christ; circa 1870's. The original interior is lined with balsa wood and most likely used as a tobacco cigar caddy box. These boxes were popular souvenirs of the European Grand Tour and were based of the great treasures of Continental Europe...

A French Art Deco cocktail pick set in the form of Gideon the duck and his snail friend worked in chrome on a mahogany base. The design is by the famed French Art Deco illustrator Benjamin Rabier, who created a comic strip called "The Adventures of Gideon" in 1923. It was immensely popular and Rabier was commissioned to make a range of entertaining barware. Few of Rabier's designs were signed, but this example is signed with his full name. The twelve picks have red bakelite finials...

A wonderful French Art Deco cocktail pick set featuring a Scottie dog (Scottish terrier) carved from Indonesian Macassar ebony. The severely linear carving of the dog is nicely accented by the natural markings of the wood. The dog has inlaid white eyes. The set is completed with eleven cocktail picks topped with colorful orbs. This set could certainly be used for olives or cherries in a cocktail, but could also be used as food picks for hors d'oeuvres.

An unusual Nichols Chinese Rug Circa 1920-1932 oval design 3.5’ x2’ Nanking design

Lumiere Collection From the extensive collection of chamber sticks and chamber lamps acquired over a forty year period by Peter Macdonald. This candle holder is a nautilus form faience candle holder from Malicorne-sur-Sarthe, France, a town in the region of Pays de la Loire famous for its decorative ceramics and stoneware. A rival and complement to the nearby Quimper factory, many of the designs are similar in form. This piece is likely from the early to mid-20th century.
