Japanese limited edition sosaku hanga woodblock print by Tadashi Nakayama (1927 - 2014) titled “Flowers and Riding Horse” (Hana to Kiba) dated 1968. The bottom margin contains, in pencil, the date, artist’s signature and edition number 49/85. The paper measures 20 3/8”V x 15 3/4”H (Image: 14 1/2"V x 11"H). A red Nakayama seal is on the back. In pencil at the bottom left corner of the back is the title, in Japanese, and the original saIes price of 10,000 yen...

A view of a gate of a Japanese home found in the outskirts of Kyoto such as Ohara. The print contains an inscription of the title of the work, the date of the print, and the number. The woodblock was made by Saito Kiyoshi (1907-1997) who was known in producing prints of Buddhist subjects and views of traditional architecture in Kyoto. Age: 1968. Size: height 24.5" length 28.75"

The artist's black ink signature is at the lower left and Saito's red seal is at the lower right portion of the image. Circa 1960's. Unlimited edition. Paper size about 17 1/8" x 11 1/2" (image: 14 1/8" x 8 3/8"). Full margins and very good overall condition. There is some slight waviness of the paper and a few puckers evident in the upper margin...

Japanese 20th Century woodblock print portrait of a nun by IKEDA SHU. The print is numbered 4 of 100 and dated 1969. Fine color and impression. There are slight creases in the lower right and left corners. The paper measures 15 1/4" wide by 23" tall. The actual print measures 13" by 20 3/4" tall.

Oversized limited edition Japanese "kappa-ban" (stencil print) by Sadao Watanabe (1913-1996) titled “The Triumphal Entry to Jerusalem.” The print is signed, dated 1968, and numbered 25/50 in white ink at the bottom. The image depicts Christ, at the center, calmly riding down the Road of Flowers toward Jerusalem. A crowd of curious and admiring people surround him...

Japanese oversized limited edition sosaku hanga woodblock print on gold leaf by Tadashi Nakayama (1927-2014) titled “Armored Horse (A).” This rare early image was created from six blocks, nine colors, and nine stages of printing. The vertical image is pencil-signed “T. Nakayama,” numbered 47/65, and dated 1969 in the bottom margin. The red kanji Nakayama seal is on the back. A color illustration of this image can be found on plate 129 of “T. Nakayama” published in 1989...

An original color woodblock print in the oban size by the Japanese Sosaku Hanga artist Kiyoshi Saito (1907 - 1997). Unlimited, dating from the 1960's. Hand signed in white ink and sealed. Condition: fine, very good impression and color. Dimension: image: 25.9 cm x 38.6 cm, paper: 29.3 cm x 43.8 cm.

Japanese limited edition color etching and aquatint titled "Paris" by Kenji Ushiku (1922-?). Pencil-signed, titled, and numbered 63/150 in the bottom margin. Ushiku was particularly active in the 1960s and 1970s. There is a pencil notation of "4-80-45" at the bottom edge which could perhaps imply a date of April 1980. Paper size: 15 1/2" x 22." Very good overall condition. Printed on heavy rag paper with large margins. Never framed.
