Midcentury Modern sterling silver water pitcher. Made by Alphonse La Paglia (d. 1953) in New Jersey. Baluster with asymmetrical oval mouth; stepped and round foot ring with flat beading. High-looping handle wrapped with abstract leaves; scroll terminal inset with Jensen-inspired seed-spilling pod on wire stem. The influence of the master applied to a traditional form. Marked “La Paglia Sterling 208”. Very good condition.

Pair of Art Deco sterling silver 2-light candelabra. Made by Georg Jensen in Copenhagen, ca 1950.

Each: Two crisscrossing arms with twisted fluting each terminating in single faceted socket with wide flat rim; socket set in leaf ring. Arms mounted to side of shaft in form of bud with clusters of seeds applied to faceted leaves; bud set in same mounted to rings and flanges; raised foot.

Designed by Johan Rohde in 1920. Distinctive Danish Modernism synthesizing natural and geometric motifs.

George VI sterling silver tray. Made by Edward Viner in Sheffield in 1950. Rectilinear with molded rim, double c-scroll corners, and bracket end handles. Fully marked including no. 0102/18 and stamp for Cheltenham & Co. (Sheffield), a division of National Silver Company (New York). Very good condition.

English Georgian sterling silver salver, 1727. Square with molded rim and curvilinear corners. Engraved armorial in well center. Rests on 4 corner hoof supports. Substantial with nice heft from the year the first Hanoverian king George I died and was succeeded by his son George II. Olympian sterling silver centerpiece bowl. Made by Tiffany & Co. in New York. Curved and tapering bowl on domed foot. At top a dense repousse frieze of love-making, harp-stumming nymphs, gods, and cherubs. Foot rim has rinceaux border. A beautiful piece in the celebrated Beaux-Arts pattern that was conceived by French designer F. Antoine Heller and debuted at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1878.
