"Illuminating of Osiris, Ipethemetes, born of Hathoremakhet, justified".

Ipethemetes means 'Ipet is her majesty' or mistress or or 'The Ipet of her Majesty'

The hippopotamus goddess Ipet was worshipped as mother of Osiris at Thebes...

Description:

The illuminated one, the Osiris, Lady of the House "Iniuhy"

A superb shabti, made in the style that is usual for the period, but much better than the average example.

It was made of Egyptian white faience with details in black and various shades of red-brown.

The face is beautifully and naturistically modelled.

The figure is shown mummiform with only his hands and head protruding, both coloured.

Unlike the typical amulet form, this small statuette was presented as a votive offering.

The light blue faience figure depicts the goddess Isis nursing her son, Horus.

She is seated on her throne resting her feet on an integral plinth, wearing a tripartite wig fronted by a uraeus, crowned by the throne hieroglyph.

Her son Horus is depicted nude while seated on her lap.
