This is a rare, seldom seen, Snuff Bottle made from Coconut Shell, of a rectangular form, tapering towards base, with a raised rectangular footing, and a short rounded neck. It has been decorated with an incised landscape in the front, and an inscription, possibly a poem, in the back. It has a deep chocolate color with specks. It is very light in weight. It comes with a metal stopper with a coral dome, and a brass spoon. This rare and curious bottle is in excellent preserved condition. This is a rare and rather unique Snuff Bottle made from Bamboo, and shaped in the form of a double Gourd. It has a flat footing. It is carved in high relief all around, and it depicts monks within a temple, surrounded by trees. A crane making a landing can also be seen. Well established cavity. Excellent rich patina. It comes with an aquamarine hardstone stopper. This excellently carved bottle is in excellent preserved condition. This is a very fine Japanese Netsuke hand-carved during the Meiji Period of Japan by Ruygetsu. It depicts a Sumo Wrestler, who is wearing the typical Mawashi with a heavy twisted rope, which is bound in the back in the typical ‘unryu’ knot. Intricate and true to form detail have been carved in this remarkable miniature sculpture. The artist has accented the figure with different shades of brown stain, and polished the natural color of the material to produce the white checkering of the mawashi . The loops on the rope are used as natural himotoshi. Signed Ryugetsu inside the mawashi. Netsuke measures 1.25 inches (3.2cm) wide and 2.07 inches (5.3cm) tall.

This is an very fine Japanese Netsuke hand-carved during the Meiji Period of Japan by Ruygetsu. It depicts a Peasant holding a basket with fruits and vegetables, while pleasurably (notice his smile) smoking a pipe. Intricate and true to form detail have been carved in this remarkable miniature sculpture. The artist has accented the figure with different shades of brown stain. Signed Ryugetsu on the bottom, right next to the basket. Netsuke measures 1.20 inches (3.1cm) wide and 1.67 inches (4.2cm) tall.

19th Century Peking Glass Black Overlay Snuff Bottle: "Nine Bronze Vessels"

This is an flat, rectangular shaped with rounded shoulders, transparent, with Black Overlay, Peking Glass Snuff Bottle, depicting in high relief with finely engraved details "Nine Bronze Vessels", after the famous Chinese abbreviated saying "jiu ding", which means "The World weighs as heavy as Nine Bronze Vessels.

The Nine Bronze Vessels refer to the bronze vessels that were casted by order of King Yiu of the Xia dynasty for each of the nine territories or provinces of his kingdom.

The bottle is in excellent preserved condition.

This is a finely hand-carved 19th century Japanese Netsuke depicting a Karako wearing his typical Chinese robe, who is carrying his little brother on his shoulders. Younger karako's hair puffs inlaid with darn horn. Rich patina. Unsigned. Netsuke measures 0.82 inches (2.1cm) wide, and 1.72 inches (4.4cm). Netsuke is in excellent condition, as may be seen in the posted photos.

19th Century, Boxwood Netsuke finely hand-carved and engraved boxwood netsuke depicting a squatting Karako (Chinese Boy), wearing the customary Chinese garb, hiding an Okame mask behind his back. He is doing the Bekkanko gesture, which tells us that he is playing a game with his friends where the objective is for other people to guess what he is hiding. Nice compact form; great expression and form details; nice mellow patina. Netsuke measures 1.27 inches (3.2cm) wide, and 1.51 inches (3.8cm) tall. It is in excellent condition, as you may be able to see in the posted photos.

Chinese, Enameled Porcelain Snuff Bottle, Jingdezhen Kilns Chenghua Mark This is an exceptional Enameled Porcelain Snuff Bottle of cylindrical form, round, long neck and wide mouth, and a narrow raised edge and flat base with an apocryphal Chenghua Mark (Chinese Ming Period 1465-1487), but most likely made during the first half (1810-1870) of the 19th century, according to 'Marks on Chinese Ceramics' by Gerald Davison. It has enameled, molded, colorful decorations of Chinese Antiques and Precious Objects. Provenance Robert Hall, London, 2011 Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts, No. 5280 This superb bottle is in excellently preserved original condition. This is 19th century, hand-0carved netsuke depicting two Karakos with typical costume who are holding a large Daruma Doll. Netsuke measures 1.24 inches (3.1cm) wide, and 2.12 inches (5.4cm) tall. Netsuke is in excellent condition, as may seen in the posted photos.

This is a fine Bamboo Kiseruzutsu carved, in high relief, the image of Rakan holding an Alms Bowl.. It has a large opening for the insertion and holding of a smoking pipe. It is highly polished, with a mellow patina. It is signed, in seal form, Bunko on the bottom portion of the piece. The kiseruzutsu measures 8.0 inches (20 cm) long, and 0.82 inches (2.1cm) in diameter. It has a couple of very fine age hairlines, but it is solid, and otherwise, in excellent condition as may be seen in the posted photos.
