The bottle is very light. This must have been the reason that the carver has left 1/4 of the bottom non hollowed to give the bottle a little weight and stability. The walls are very thin. It has a very smooth and lustrous surface. JET is a form of lignite and a geological organic material composed of fossilized wood from millions of years ago, resulting from high carbon compression and salt water. The color is best described as uncompromised or absolute blackness, therefore its known as "Jet-Black". The bottle is in excellent preserved condition.
