Nakabayashi Chikutō (1776-1853) was a notable Japanese poet and scholar who flourished during the Edo period. He became associated with the Danrin school, a literary group that emphasized emotional expression and personal voice in poetry. Chikutō's verses reflected his deep appreciation for nature, often capturing the fleeting beauty of cherry blossoms, moonlit nights, and seasonal changes.
