A finely matched set of 7 bronze Hamsa bird opium weights, all from the same undertype of Shan hamsas, issued from ca. 1770 AD.

The set includes some nice weights from the massive 20 tical weight all the way down to the scarce 1/4 Tical weight.

This Hamsa-type can be dated to c. 1770-1820. They have normal hexagonal bases, engraved with concenthric lines. Six rayed star mark at the base.

Set includes weights of:

317 grams = 20 Tical: Very fine, brown patina, some overall wear.

157 grams = 10 Tical: Nice very Fine, choice brown patina

80 grams = 5 Tical: Very Fine, choice brown patina

30,74 grams = 2 tical: Fine, some wear.

15,23 grams = 1 Tical: Good Very Fine, sharp with fine glossy patina.

7,72 Grams = 1/2 Tical: Nice very Fine, choice brown patina

4,38 grams = 1/4 Tical: Extremely fine for the scarce issue!.
