A rare early wooden chinese figure of Xuandi / Zhenwu, with much laquer and fine colour overall, China, Ming Dynasty (1368-1644), c. 17th. century.
The figure is in very original worship condition, still with remnants of the beard, made of real hair and the content present in the hidden room in the back. An attractive figure of a fine style seated on a tall throne with a chinese inscription. Hidden room in the back no lid.
Size: 28 cm. tall.
Condition: Nice very fine for the type with much preserved colours and gilt, basically intact with nice old patina taht speaks for the high age of the figure. Smaller chips and losses and ancient insect attack in the throne.
