A very rare ANGKOR WAT Period (Post BAYON) BRONZE FLYING GARUDA WITH FINIAL, 12th Century, the powerful mythical bird, is the eternal sworn enemy of the Naga Serpent race and known for feeding exclusively on snakes. It's image is often used to protect the bearer from snake attack and it's poison. Nice naturally formed patina. Surface encrustations, malachite, azurite, manganese and calcite consistent with the period and environment of similar recorded museum pieces.
Good condition and comes with a stand. Size: L. 6.75" x W. 2" (17 cm. x 5 cm.)
