Gallery History
We have been in this business for over thirty years and own an established gallery on Canyon Road in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Alan Kessler is one of the original founders and a current member of A.T.A.D.A., the Antique Tribal Art Dealers Association. Kessler is also the author of Collecting Kachina Dolls 1880-1940 and held the auction record for a kachina doll sold at auction, the Hopi Shalako Mana Kachina, sold at Sotheby’s American Indian Art Dec. 4, 1997 for $294,000. The same doll was sold again in May in 2007 in Paris and brought the equivalent of $356,000 US. Alan Kessler has also done appraisals for collectors, national museums, and corporations for over forty years.
