Rare black and white inlay vase by Kyoto master potter, Kondo Yutaka. Measuring just shy of 25cm tall this vase is cloaked in a black textured surface with impressed, inlay decoration of stark and contrasting white across the surface...

Robust and rare mizusashi by veteran and highly important potter, Morino Taimei. Using two glazes, green enamel and silver overglaze this mizusashi is a classic example of Morino's work and a wonderful modern tea piece.

This mizusashi measures 20 x 16.5 cm and is in perfect condition with its original signed wood box and is clearly stamped on the base.

Serene Hagi chawan by veteran Yamaguchi Prefecture potter, Okada Yu (b.1941). Thrown of a rich daido clay and covered with first a slip and than an ash glaze, this chawan was fired in a wood fired climbing kiln the way that Hagi has been fired for centuries...

Rozome style covered jar with the repeated resist "harmony" design. The green overglaze is very reminiscent of Japanese Fujina, as well as medieval galena glazes style glazes and is very rich in person and lead free.

This covered jar comes with two different styled lids, each one presenting an entirely unique view and perspective of the piece

This classic Mingei hanaire is by Mashiko potter Hyuga Munetoshi, a one time student of the Hamada kiln (?). Glazed in an exceedingly rich tessha/kaki iron glaze the pot has wax resisted decoration of flowers on either side of the pot. Created for both function and decoration , this pot is a great example of modern Mingei influenced Mashiko pottery. The glaze is far more complex and rich than the photos convey and will not disappoint in person...

Sophisticated, yet naturalistic set of five, hand made, hand cut leaf plates with red enamel leaf designs under a washed gold gilt surface. This Rimpa influenced set for casual or kaiseki use are by veteran Kyoto Kiyomizu potter, Heian Seiun and most likely date to the 1960s...

Pleasant crackle style chawan with Rimpa influenced design under and over the glaze. This chawan was made by veteran Kyoto native potter, Suzuki Soji who was a student of Tomimoto Kenkichi. Suzuki's chawan now days can cost 200,000 yen and more.

This chawan is in excellent condition and does not have a box.

Large, robust E-Shino chawan with painted underglaze iron landscape by (Shino) Yaichiro. Prominently signed; YA. Wonderful, velvety Shino glaze surface.

Robust and feudal style Ko-Iga style chawan by veteran potter, Kojima Kenji. This broad bowl has a strong, purposeful form which gentlely undulates around the pot and is seen in the roving lip and the chawan is finished with a classic foot as seen on many of Kojima's teabowls. The face and interior of the chawan have a nice deposit of ash with areas about the lip being covered in a soft, green ash with the rear of the chawan detailing both fire color, hi-iro and a nice clay flavor, tsuchi-aji...

Classic and robust Iga Mizusashi made by Tsujimura Shiro who needs no introduction. Powerfully thrown out of a whitish stoneware clay and fired in an anagama, this mizusashi is covered in ash with a small area of blushing on the read and rivulets of ash cascading down the face...

Robust and classically medieval in origin, this Seto-Guro chawan was made by Toki Intangible Cultural property, Mizuno Takuzo. The deep black surface has a wetness to the glaze that adds to curdled surface of the chawan that gives way to the buff clay and well addressed kodai. The chawan is well animated by way of deep throwing marks made while the bowl was wet and on the wheel and then was ovalled slightly to create a pleasing form to the hand and the eye...
