Opalized dinosaur toe bone in three pieces. This one-of-a-kind gem translucent cherry red opal toe bone was found in Utah. It is 2" long by .325" wide. The top of the claw is readily seen as translucent, but the entire claw as well as the two toe bones are also red fire opal throughout, but the outside would need to be polished to bring out the translucent opal. This is the only red fire opal dinosaur bone fossil known to exist as far as I know. According to the Australian Opal Center, Australia is the only place on earth that produces opalized bones of land-living animals including dinosaurs – and most of these are from Lightning Ridge. This may be the only opalized dinosaur bone ever found in the US. It is unique and history making. It was found on private land. I purchased it directly from the finder who gave me a signed statement where he found it, which goes to the buyer. Museum quality investment specimen. I hate to even mention this, but it would make a world class ring or pendant by exposing the opal and polishing and keeping the original pictures and video of the transformation.
