RARE and OUTSTANDING 940 silver bracelet from Hector Aguilar's workshop the Taller Borda designed by Gabriel Flores. Fabulous design and execution, this bracelet is in fine original condition with a beautiful patina. It consists of six pin hinged panels with a chain and pin closure. It measures approximately 7" around in the inside and is 1 1/16th " wide. It weighs 124 grams. It is signed Taller Borda, 940, GF (for Gabriel Flores),Taxco Mexico and the eagle mark with the number 9. This is hallmark M on page 13 of the book SILVER MASTERS OF MEXICO by Penny Morrill. She dates this hallmark 1948-62. According to this book "The rectangular hallmark consisting of 940 and TAXCO MEXICO and appearing with the words, TALLER BORDA, is used when the HA (HECTOR AGUILAR) is replaced by either Gabriel Flores's (GF) or Valentin Vidaurreta's (Valentin) hallmark. Regardless of who the designer was, the eagle number is always 9." Work by Gabriel Flores is rarely found and this is a FABULOUS piece.
