These rare ivory carvings of two immortals are early 20th century products. The male immortal is Lu Dongbin; he is 8 ¾” high (with base is 10” high), 3” wide 2 ½” thick. The female is He Xiangu; she is 8 ¾” high (with base is 10” high), 3” wide 2 ½” thick. This early 20th century large stone carving of a water buffalo cow and calf is 6 ½” high, 7 ¾” long and 4 ½” wide. It depicts a cow eating grass but feeding her youngster at the same time. The bodies of both calf and cow are finely incised to represent hair. It is in excellent condition.

This early 20th century large export carved ivory goddess of mercy (GuanYin) is 18” high (with carved wood stand it is 20 ½” high), 4” wide and 3” thick (measured from the base). Her right hand holds a branch of willow leaves; her left hand carries a basket filled with lotus blossoms. A phoenix is standing on her side and a tiny sitting Buddha with a fire halo is in her dark, braided hair. There is an honorable Qian Long mark carved on the bottom. It is in excellent condition.

This early 20th century Japanese silver wire cloisonné vase is 7 3/8 inches high and 4 inches on the widest part. It depicts a rose blossom and buds. It is in excellent condition.

This carved ZiTan (紫 檀) hard wood Bitong (brush holder) is an early 20th century product. ZiTan is a species of Pterocarpus native to India. Chinese love the quality and hardness of the wood; therefore, they use it to make expensive items. The brush holder is 6 1/8” high and 4 1/4” in diameter. This early 20th century carved ivory netsuke is 1 1/2" high, 1 7/8" wide and 1 1/4" thick. It depicts a sage sitting in front a desk looking at a scroll picture. Two bird faced servants stand next to the table looking at the picture as well. It is signed “Gyokubun” and is in excellent condition.

This hand painted blue and white statue of standing Hotei is a Taisho period (1912~1926) product. It is 6 ¾” high, 4” wide and 3” thick. In Japanese or Chinese culture, Hotei (Budai in Chinese) is an immortal who is always shown smiling or laughing and carrying a huge cloth bag. This porcelain Hotei is holding a wood stick in his right hand so he can carry both his huge cloth bag and a fan. His left hand is holding a round pot. His body is the only part unglazed...

This early 20th century pale green porcelain Guan Yin is 9 inches tall. The image of Guan Yin holding a baby boy is a fertility symbol in Chinese custom. It is in good condition.

This snuff bottle is molded in the form of a wine pot which is secured in a woven basket. It is inscribed with the wine maker¡¯s name De Run Zheng and the name of the wine Zhuang Yuan Hong. The seal mark is Yong Zheng period but is considered as Tong Zhi or Guang Xu period (1862~1908). It is 3 inches tall and 1 ¾ inches at the widest part. Beside some small chips on the woven part, it is in good condition.

This jade (jadeite) pendant is 2 3/8” long, 1 3/4” wide and 5/16” thick. It is an early 20th century product. It is carved on both sides as a carp with lotus leaf and some small unknown flowers. It was designed and carved in an ingenious way, using the green part of the stone as the carp and the white translucent part as the lotus leaf. It is in great condition.

This very well carved early 20th century Japanese netsuke is 1 ¼ inches high, 1 ¾ inches wide and 1 1/8 inches thick. It depicts a demon sitting in a straw sandal. It is signed “Masatsugu” and is in great condition.

This early 20th century carved ivory statue is 8 inches tall (with base, it is 9 inches tall), 4 ½ inches wide and 2 inches thick. The scene depicts three ladies chatting in front of a pine tree. There is a mountain surrounded by clouds and a palace on the top of the mountain. This statue is carved from three assembled pieces of ivory. It is in good condition.

This early 20th century carved coral of lady and two birds mounted as a table lamp is 22” high. The coral lady is 6” high and the embossed brass base is 7” x 7”. There is a small carved agate bird sitting on the top of the lamp. The lady and two birds are standing on a carved hard wood base and branch. It is in great condition.

This very well designed hand carved early 20th century Chinese ivory snuff bottle of a shape of a corn is 3 ½ inches high and 1 ½ inches wide from bottom. It depicts a beetle resting on an ear of a corn. It is in great condition.

This small Shoushan stone (寿 山 石) carving is an early 20th century product. It is 2 ¼” high, 2 ¾” wide and 1 ¾” thick. It depicts two immortals He-He Er Xian (和 合 二 仙) also known as the “two spirits of Harmony and Union" sitting next to each other. Two straw hats rest on their backs. They hold a small woven round box in front of them; another large box is sitting nearby. A tiny lucky bat is trying to escape from the small box...

This superb ivory carving of Guan Yin is an early 20th century product. It is 12 ¼” high (wood base is not included), 2 ¾” wide (from bottom) and 2 1/8” thick (from bottom). It depicts Guan Yin (goddess of mercy) holding a young child. The laughing child carries a lotus blossom and leaf. Guan Yin is riding on the back of a carp with a dragon head surrounded by waves and lotus...

This early 20th century Chinese carved wood statue is 9 ¼ inches tall, 6 inches wide and 4 inches in depth. The statue presents a legendary Chinese character who is a member of the eight immortals.
