Mark Tougias (American, Born 1953 - present) - Vermont Winter Hills landscape painting, oil on linen, 24 inches x 30 inches, signed lower right and titled on tag own reverse. A quintessentially Vermont winter landscape with tightly spaced rolling hills and fields shadowed by the late afternoon sun. Mark Tougias was born in Springfield, MA, in 1957. He is self-taught and is known for his plein-aire landscapes of the New England countryside and for his tonal styles. He has exhibited widely throughout New England and has painted and traveled extensively in Europe. Most of his landscapes are of scenes in Vermont and upstate New York. He has been a member of the Southern Vermont Art Center, Boston's Copley Society and the North Shore Artists' Association in Gloucester. Offered in a contemporary gilt wood plein aire style frame.
