A small stoneware figurine with celadon glaze, showing a kneeling mother chewing a betel leave and holding her baby at the breast. Dating to the 14th to mid 16th century. Please refer to "Thai Ceramics: The James and Elaine Connell Collection" No. 97. Condition: fine. Dimension: 10.5 cm high.

Three Chinese snuff bottles made of porcelain, painted in underglaze blue, one with little underglaze red accentuations. The small one decorated with fishes among seaweed, the stopper made of jade-imitating glass. The cylindrical bottles painted with a court scene or deers in a landscape, the stoppers made of tiger eye stone. All have bone spoons...

A pair joss-stick holders with Buddhist lions standing on a leave-shaped base and a single one with wooden stand. Made of biscuit porcelain and glazed in the "sancai" palette. Dating to the Kangxi period (1662-1722). Condition: the balls of the male lions are lost, both with small restorations, the bulging eyes of the beasts with glue residues, one lion with small flake on the tail. Dimension: pair height: c. 10.1 cm, single one: c. 15.5 cm high.

A set of three finely executed paintings in gouache and ink, on embossed paper by the British manufacturer Henry Dobbs. Showing different plants and butterflies. Mounted in later red lacquered wooden frames. Dimension: paintings: c. 23.5 cm x 17.3 cm, frames: c. 29.1 cm x 35.4 cm. Condition: fine, frames with some wear. Three Chinese Export flat plates from the Kangxi period. Decorated with the "100 antiques" motif in the Imari palette and gold. The rim in underglaze dark brown. Condition: minor wear to gold. Two plates with few tiny rim frits and flakes and with total 3 rim chips (see picture 10). Dimension: diameter: 22.5 cm.

Two small rectangular pouches and an etui for a comb. Made of termeh wool fabric with boteh motif or floral stripes, partially embellished with velvet and gold braids. Two with monochrome silk or cotton lining, the comb's pouch lined with printed cotton "qalamkar", this one with a later snap closure. Three antique hexagonal Chinese silver cups decorated with figures, bamboo and plum twigs. Base marked "KC" and Chinese characters (according to Adrien von Ferscht: a silversmith active 1825-1900 in Canton). Two with original glass inserts. Dimension: c. 4.3 cm wide x 3.5 cm high, weight silver: 74 g. Condition: one glass insert lost, the other ones with small rim chips.

An original Japanese color woodblock print by the artist Utagawa Toyokuni I (1769-1825), in vertical oban size. Depicting two women with a boy drying and beating Cloth on the river banks. Signed "Toyokuni ga", censor "kiwame". Condition: good color and impression, some small wormholes, backed, creased and soiled, laid down at upper corners. Dimension: 36.1 cm x 24.6 cm.

Jewelry for the headdress of a Turkmen unmarried woman, made of silver and set with red glass cabochons. These domed finals were fixed on the girl's cap called "Tjubetejka", according to Schletzer decorated with a bird's feather meant the young woman was affianced. From an old Swiss collection. Cf. Two early vintage albumen prints, one showing a Japanese river landscape, the second one with a group of Western and Japanese men in a garden. Mounted on coeval cardboard. Condition: fine, minimally faded, the photo with the landscape with a tiny hole, the cardboard with two lost corners. Dimension: photo: c. 20.1 cm x 26.1 cm, cardboard: 34.8 cm x 43.8 cm.

One made of silver alloy in the "bira-bira" style, showing a blossom with tiny coral beads forming the center and attached butterflies. The second one is a "tama" kanzashi with pierced mixed metal ball showing floral decoration. Both ending in a mimikaki (ear spoon). Condition: the first one with missing butterflies. The second one with minimally bent prongs and little wear. Dimension: 17 cm and 16 cm long.

Two different pipes, the bowls made of Tophane clay embellished with gilding or gilded metal rim. The stems ar made of wood ending in a horn mouthpiece. One with mark. Condition: one bowl was broken in two and the other one with two chips. Dimension: total length: 35 cm and 16 cm.

An oval brass seal and a square carnelian or glass seal, each with silver mount. The faces engraved with Arabic inscriptions, one dated. Condition: some traces of usage. Dimension: 1.6 cm long, 1.9 cm and 2.9 cm high (with loop).

Two Tibetan stem platters for ritual offerings, made from hardwood with metal sheet. The center decorated with a wheel, one of the eight Buddhist Symbols. Torma are cone shaped ritual food offerings sculpted in a variety of shapes and sizes, mostly made of flour and butter. Condition: traces of usage, one piece with an old repair (was broken in two). Dimension: diameter: c. 19 cm, height: 6 cm and 7.3 cm, weight: 1200 g.

Two double pages printed in woodblock technique on thin paper. The first depicting a blue bird on a lychee plant from the "Mustard Seed Garden Manual of Painting", Jieziyuan huazhuan, published in 1679 by Wang Gai. The second showing a bird on a fruiting branch, from the "Ten Bamboo Studio Manual of Calligraphy and Painting", Shizhuzai shuhua pu, published by Hu Zhengyan in the early 17th century.
