A blue and white gravy jug or creamer, Chinese export porcelain, c 1830. The hand painted decoration of pagodas in a seascape is cut off on both sides of the handle, mimicking the competitive English porcelain factories, where this was an obvious downside of the new and rational method of printing. One lid is for a large vase or a soup bowl, ecuelle, and the smaller for a cup. Outer diameter of the rims that have to fit into another vessel is "2½/ 6,4 cm and "5½/ 13,7 cm respectively.
