Oil on Masonite painting, 18" by 7 3/4" (24" by 13 3/4" as framed, with liner), the subject two young girls and their classic olla-type water or grain pots. of the Southwest. This is likely a New Mexico or Arizona scene, executed in tan and brown earth tone colors. The painting is signed in black at lower left "Ch. Bragg"; I believe this to be the work of the well-known California-based American illustrator artist Charles Bragg (1931-2017), though, this is perhaps best offered as "attributed" to Charles Bragg. In 2012 I made the effort to contact the artist, through his artist son, Charles Lynn Bragg. At the time, Charles the elder looked at the photos and said that he did sign like this at one time, and that the work could well have been by him; but he didn't remember the piece specifically. I have retained those emails. Regardless of authorship, this is a decorative piece if you are looking for Southwest or New Mexican-inspired art. Frame is silvery with applied black speckles.
