Watercolor on heavy watercolor paper, unsigned, the subject the sea coast, painted in an impressionist style by an American artist. The work was found in Laguna Beach, California but I cannot say that this is a Southern California work---although I wonder if this might well be Laguna's "Bird Rock", as I think I've seen other works depicting that feature, and the two birds above this might be symbolic. Unframed, the sheet measures 16" by 22". Condition is good considering it has traveled without protection. There is a little light soiling, perhaps, and possible light moisture stain, (but possibly not....could be the artist's intent), and a little rumpling at upper left. Frame and mat this and just enjoy it for what it is........a nicely executed watercolor by a talented hand. Could possibly be rolled in a tube for shipping economy.
