This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the late 19th century. The saucer has a diameter of 3 1/4 inches and the cup is 1 1/2 inches high. The cup has a ring handle. The set is made of fine, white bone china. It is decorated with cobalt flow blue flowers and leaves, rust red flowers, and embellished with gold. Condition: The back of the saucer has light crazing in the glaze. There is slight wear to the gilding on the edges of both pieces. It is very minor and hardly noticeable.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by George Jones in 1850. There is a registry mark indicating this year. The set is made of fine, white bone china. The cup features a futuristic looking handle Jones often used. The set is decorated with vibrantly colored, hand painted asters and foliage. The vivid colors contrast beautifully against the white porcelain. The rims are trimmed with dentil gilding. Condition: There is a bit of wear to the edge of the saucer that keeps this set from being excellent. Given its age, it is very minor.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Royal Crown Derby in 1891. The date cipher indicates this year. The saucer has a diameter of 5 3/8 inches and the cup is 2 inches high. The set is made of translucent bone china. The cup has a puffy, quatrefoil shape with a handle that looks like rope. The set is decorated with an Imari type pattern taken from the Japanese. Cobalt blue and rust colored red are the main colors in the floral and geometric design. Much gold is used in the decoration and trim. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Shelley before 1950. The numbers 1301/101 are on the bottom. This may be a pattern identification. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The porcelain is fine, white bone china. The cup is can shaped. The set has an overlay of gilding which covers all of the white area on each piece. It is reminiscent of chintz. The pattern is raspberry vines with flowers and berries, accented with raised enamel. There are borders of cranberry colored enamel trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent

This trio of tea cup, coffee cup and saucer was produced in Wales by Nantgarw between 1817 and 1822. Illustration #82 in “Nantgarw Porcelain Album” written by W.D. John, G.J. Coombes and K. Coombes shows a cream jug in the same pattern. None of the pieces are signed. The saucer measures 5 1/2 inches in diameter and is 1 inch deep. It is notable that this saucer does not have a foot rim and is unglazed on the bottom, a detail which is mentioned in the book. The tea cup is 2 1/8 inches tall (without the handle) and 3 3/4” in diameter. The coffee cup is 2 3/8 inches tall with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The bodies of the cups are finely molded with a small foot and inverted heart shaped handles. The decoration is attributed to London decorators. Hand gilding of such intricacy and delicacy permeates the design. Gilded urns spewing grapes and vines like fountains alternate with wide gilded vessels containing colorful enameled flower arrangements. Every inch is dripping gold and flowers. At the center of each piece is a knot of flowers. The outside of the cups are ringed with a gilded band of berries and leaves. The rims and handles are trimmed with gold. The superb artisans who decorated these pieces had the additional challenge of painting inside the cups. This was accomplished with precision. Is there any doubt these are some of the most beautiful porcelains in the world?

This set of 10 porcelain soup cups and saucer was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1925. The date ciphers on the bottom indicate that year. They were made especially for the retailer Marshall Field of Chicago. All of the pieces are artist signed by renowned Worcester painters. Two of them are E. Phillips and A. Freeman. The saucers have a diameter of 5 3/4 inches and the cups are 2 inches high not counting the handles. The interiors of the cups and wells of the saucers have reserves with realistic, brightly colored flowers. The borders, which are 1 1/2 inches wide, are a deep crimson red. They are overlaid with elaborate gilding. These bouillon cups and saucers are elegant and would be wonderful for display. Condition: Excellent

The set is made of fine, white bone china. The cup is melon ribbed and blown out. The saucer has a scalloped rim. The ground color is rich cobalt blue. It is decorated with elaborate raised gold decorations. Gilded swags and raised gold beads accent the design. The interior of the cup, well of the saucer and handle are richly gilded. This is truly an product of the “Gilded Age”. Condition: Excellent, with just a trace of wear to gilding, hardly noticeable. Both pieces “ring” when tapped.

The cup shape is blown out and scalloped on the rim. The saucer is shaped the same way. The ground color is apple green enamel. Delicate gilded swags encircle both pieces. The handle, interior of the cup and well of the saucer are richly gilded. Condition: Excellent

The name of the company is impressed in the porcelain and there is a registry mark giving the precise date the cup and saucer was produced. The saucer measures 4 1/2 inches in diameter and the cup is 2 1/4 inches high. The set is quatrefoil in shape. There are alternating panels of hand painted fruits and textured burgundy red. The fruits are painted in raised silver and gold enamels. There are gilded accents and trim on both pieces. The style is distinctively aesthetic. Condition: There is a trace of wear to the gilding around the well of the saucer. There is one tiny white spot on a raised dot on the saucer. Overall, the set is in very good condition.
