This porcelain cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Richard Klemm Dresden Studio in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/4 inches and the cup is 3 1/4 inches high without the handle. It was probably used to serve hot chocolate. The cup features an Empire style handle. The set is hand painted with cartouches containing Watteau scenes in Meissen style. The rest of the cup and saucer is covered with fine, lacy gilding. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain serving dish was produced in France by Klingenberg Limoges. The white blank was sold for decoration to a studio artist. It is signed and dated 1906. The dish measures 16 inches across the handles. it is 8 3/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The porcelain has scrolled, molded handles and scalloped edges. Colorful hand painted roses spill across the interior of the dish. There is gold trim on the handles and edges. This is an attractive piece with an impressive size for use and display. Condition: There is a trace of wear to some gilding on the edge that is hardly noticeable. The piece is in overall excellent condition.

This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in Berlin, Germany by the Royal Porcelain Manufacturer, known as KPM, in the 1890s. It has the under glaze blue scepter and over glaze red orb with the letters KPM. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and is 1 1/8 inches deep. The cup is 2 1/8 inches high with a diameter of 2 3/4 inches. The hard paste porcelain is of the finest quality ever produced. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The front of the cup has a hand painted portrait of a “bonnet girl” often pictured during the art nouveau era. Framing the portrait is a cartouche of ornate raised gilding. There is elaborate hand gilding around both pieces. A border of gold filigree trims the inside rim of the cup. The gold trimmed handle is shaped like a split twig. This cup and saucer is one of the finest examples KPM produced. Condition: Excellent

The basket measures 4 1/2 inches long, 3 1/4 inches wide and 1 1/2 inches deep. The basket is delicately reticulated and has molded rosettes around the border. There are handles in the shape of branches on each side. Hand painted sprigs of flowers and a butterfly are scattered inside the basket. The outside has sprays of tiny flowers. There are gold and blue accents on the side ribs of reticulation. Condition: Excellent, first quality.

This porcelain tea caddy was produced in Germany by KPM, Royal Berlin, around 1870. It is unmarked. The porcelain blank features the lid with snowdrops and the bottom has the typical legs that were designed by KPM. The piece is 7 inches high, including the lid. The ground is rich cobalt blue. There is a scenic reserve of a couple in a landscape on the front. The figural painting is high quality and very similar to that of Meissen. The intricate gilding is delicate. This is an exquisite treasure from the past you would be proud to own. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain trembleuse chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Germany at the Royal Porcelain Manufacturer, Berlin, between 1830 and 1840. The saucer has a diameter of 5 1/2 inches and the cup is 2 7/8 inches high. The cup has two handles and the saucer has a reticulated gallery attached to it to hold the cup in place. Both pieces have a molded basket weave border around the rims. The set is richly decorated with elaborate gilding and hand painted scenes. CONDITION: There is slight wear to gilding inside rim of cup. The foot ring on the saucer has a tiny firing crack that occurred in manufacturing

This porcelain trinket box was produced in Germany by the Koniglich Porzellan Manufactur, or KPM, in the 1890s. The box is signed under the glaze with a blue scepter and a red orb over the glaze. There are hand painted numbers and a symbol. The porcelain is framed with gilt bronze ormolu. The lid is hinged to the bottom portion. It is decorated with an Art Nouveau design of swirling gilding and translucent enamel jewels in shades of peach and amber. The side panels repeat this design all the way around the box. An ivory ground presents the gilding and enamel decorations in subtle elegance. Condition: Excellent

This porcelain figurine was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer or KPM about 1900. It was modelled by the artist Karl Himmelstoss. He specialized in subjects wearing traditional costumes. The figure is 10 ¼ inches high and 7 inches wide. The figure weighs over 4 pounds unpacked. The finest modelling and degree of detail is evident. Folds in the skirt, ruffled collar and sleeves, the wicker texture of the basket, ribbons and headdress show complex detail. Completing the piece is the exquisitely detailed painting of the lady. KPM was known for wonderful hand painted plaques but here is that remarkable painting on a figurine. The traditional costumes worn by the women of the Spreewald region, outside of Berlin, provided interesting subject matter for Himmelstoss and was appreciated by Berliners. It was common to see nurses and nannies wearing this type of clothing in the 19th century. This piece has a dual purpose, as a work of art and preserving historical prospective on the life in Germany. Condition: Excellent first quality

This porcelain figural group was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufactory or KPM in 1913. It has a date cipher indicating this year. The piece is signed by Karl Himmelstoss, a modeler who specialized in traditional subject matter. The group measures 9 ½ inches high, 9 inches long and 5 inches wide. The piece weighs over 5 pounds unwrapped. Two women and child from the Spreewald region of Germany, outside of Berlin engage in some juicy gossip. They are dressed in the traditional costumes of this period. The modelling is well done and the piece is nicely balanced. Himmelstoss had a sense of humor with his characters. Just look at the older woman’s expression. She is totally enjoying what she is hearing. There are finely hand painted details to the costumes the three are wearing. If you travel to Spreewald you will probably still see women dressing in this traditional manner. You will find an illustration and description of this figural group on page 135, “Berliner Porzellan vom Jugendstil zum Funktionalismus 1889-1939” from the Brohan Museum. There is a cute handle with curlecues that is so fragile. The set is decorated with tiny flower buds in monochrome orange. There is lacy gilding on the inside rim of the cup. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. CONDITION: There is minor wear to the gold on the rims of both pieces.

The cup is 3 1/4 inches high including the lid. The set is made of fine white hard paste porcelain. The decoration is inspired by Japanese design. The lid has an applied flower bud and stem for its finial. The decoration is monochrome with tones of magenta. The flowers are placed off center in clusters and sprigs, very much like some designs used by Meissen. The rims are trimmed with chocolate brown enamel. It is quite rare to come across this type of cup and saucer with its lid intact. Condition: Excellent

The porcelain blank is molded with a basket weave border and the area where the handle is attached on the cup has raised flowers. The ground color is ivory with a hint of iridescence. Little blue flowers are attached to finely gilded, vine-like tendrils. All of the hand painting is ultra-delicate, with precision detail. The handle is decorated to look like a branch. The rims are gilded. This is a fine example of workmanship that is highly prized from the craftsmen of the KPM factory. Condition: Excellent, first quality, without defects of any kind.

This porcelain bowl was produced in Germany by the Royal Berlin Porcelain Manufacturer, or KPM, in 1918. The markings include the iron cross used for that year. The bowl measures 11 1/2 inches in diameter and 6 1/4 inches high. It has a wonderful shape, not round but blown out in four corners, although the bowl is basically round. It stands on an impressive pedestal base. The body of the bowl is hand cut with a basket reticulation. There are large reserves in four areas with realistically hand painted flowers. There is another bunch of flowers directly in the center of the bowl. They are painted in the exquisite manner KPM is famous for. The reserves on the outside of the bowl also have the flower painting. But in addition, there are tiny molded forget-me nots accenting the reticulated work. The rim inside the bowl has blue fish scale designs. There is delicate scrolled gilding and accents in blue. Similar bowls are available but they are smaller in size and later in production. The quality of painting and manufacturing process shows the experience and aesthetics from over 100 years ago. This is an extraordinary work of art in porcelain of the highest quality you would be proud to own. Condition: Excellent without defects of any kind.
