This pair of porcelain goblets was produced in Germany by Nymphenburg between 1850 and 1862. They measure 6 7/8 inches high and have a diameter of 2.75 inches. They are decorated with portraits of persons of royalty to commemorate their engagement or marriage. The portraits are executed with photographic detail. Each goblet has elaborate gilding surrounding the portraits, around the foot of the goblet and on the back. They are of historical significance and beautiful examples of Nymphenburg’s work. A possibility for the identity of this couple we found are Elisabeth d’Autriche Austria-Sissi and Franz Joseph. Condition: Excellent

A castle can be seen in the background. The scene is unnamed. These topographical porcelains document the place in time as it was in 1815. Condition: The cup has a significant chip to the side rim. This pair of porcelain vases was produced in Austria in the 1890s. They have a beehive marking painted over the glaze. They are 8 5/8 inches tall. The diameter at the widest point is 4 inches. The form of the vases has a classic, clean silhouette. But the tour de force is the jeweled decoration. Raised enamel beads or jewels imitating sapphires, opals, amethysts, and rainbow quartz accent and drape around each vase. There are garlands of tiny pink roses and tiny gilded rosettes. A gold medallion with gilded ribbons contains pink roses encircled in pearl-like beads. The neck of the vase has an intricate raised gold pattern that covers the entire surface. It is difficult to name all the details, there are so many. And yet, they are totally elegant on a pristine, white ground. What a joy to find a matching pair. Condition: Excellent

This pair of porcelain vases was produced in England by Royal Worcester in 1879. Hand painted birds are done by the artist John Hopewell. The date letter indicates this year. They are 8 ¼ “ tall, 3” wide and 4 ¾” across the handles. Asian styled handles and feet are an inspiration of the aesthetic movement. A raucous array of berries, butterflies, birds and flowers fill the space on all four sides of the vases. The realistic, hand painted birds and flora are vibrantly colored and done with fine detail by John Hopewell, one of Worcester’s most renown artists. It is amazing to find a matched pair.
