This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in Austria by Franz Dorfl between 1884 and 1902. The cup is artist signed. The shape of the set is triangular and quite unusual. The ground color is deep cobalt blue. The front of the cup has a reserve containing a hand painted scene. A classical woman is taking Cupid's bow and arrows from him. It is a spirited contest. The scene is framed with an elaborate raised gold cartouche. The gilding extends around the sides of the cup. Elements of this gilded pattern embellish the saucer. The interior of the cup is entirely gilded. The handle and rims of each piece are covered with gold. This is an extraordinary demitasse cup and saucer you would be proud to display. This porcelain trembleuse chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Bohemia by Carl Knoll in the 1880s. The saucer is 5 ¼” in diameter. The cup with lid is 5 ½ “ high and 5” across the handles. The set is hand painted with Watteau scenes on the lid, the cup and the saucer. The hand gilding of fish scale design, was a laborious process. There are additional accents of rich gilding and trim. The finial on the lid is a flame and the handles are Meissen style split branch handles. The benefit of having a little reticulated gallery on the saucer was keeping the cup from sliding off the saucer on to the floor. How unique! Condition: Excellent

This porcelain coffee cup and saucer was produced in Austria by a Vienna Porcelain manufacturer in the1880s. It has an artist’s signature “Schuler” in the painting. The saucer is 6 inches in diameter. The cup is 2 ½” high with a diameter of 3¾”. The ground color is forest green. The front of the cup has a hand painted scene of a classical lady and a winged cherub. The scene is framed with ornate, raised gold. The saucer has matching gold trim. The interior of the cup is gilded 2/3 of the way down. The gilding contrasts beautifully against the deep green ground color. Condition Excellent

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in England by Coalport in the 1890s. The diameter of the saucer is 3 ½ inches and the cup is 1 ¾ inches high. The set has a fluted shape with scalloped edges. The ground color is sky blue enamel. It is intricately hand gilded with raised and beaded gilding. The interior of the cup, well of the saucer and handle are coated in gold. Condition: The bottom of the cup has slight crazing in the glaze. You have to use magnification to see it. There are no other defects.

The ground color is deep cobalt blue. It is decorated with ornate raised and beaded gilding. The interior of the cup, well of the saucer and handle are coated in gold. Condition: Excellent. There is no wear to the gilding and no crazing in the glaze.

This porcelain demitasse cup and saucer was produced in France by Demartine Limoges around 1891. It was made especially for Tiffany of New York. The saucer has a diameter of 4 1/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/8 inches high. The porcelain is thin and translucent. The ground color is taupe, a combination of dark brown and gray. Both pieces are elaborately hand painted with arabesques that are accented with blue flowers and orange berries. The whole design is textured from the raised enameling and gilding. There is trim of gold and silver at the edges and around the well of the saucer. The entire surface of the ground color has a pattern of minute gold dots covering it. There is dental gold trim on the rims and the handle is sculpted gold. This demitasse cup and saucer is an extraordinary artistic accomplishment in the style Tiffany was famous for. This porcelain chocolate cup and saucer was produced in Germany by the Richard Klemm Dresden Studio in the 1890s. The saucer measures 6 inches in diameter and the cup is 4 inches high. The cup has a pedestal base and the saucer is contoured with a raised well in the center. The saucer is a platform for the cup. The ground color is blue green. There are tiny pink rose garlands around the saucer and cup. The front of the cup has a reserve containing a portrait of Queen Louise of Prussia who lived in the 1700s. There is a shiny gold frame around the portrait. The green ground is accented with raised gilding giving texture to those areas. I have heard this treatment referred to as “tree bark”. The rims and handle are all heavily gilded. The workmanship is very similar to pieces from Royal Vienna. Condition : Excellent

The surfaces of both pieces are covered with fine, lacy gilding with hand painted flowers accenting the design. The borders have a kind of sepia wash tinged with gold. It gives the set an antique effect. Condition: Except for a bit of crazing on the bottom of the saucer, invisible to the naked eye, this set is in excellent condition.

The set is modeled after cups and saucers of the Chinese Yongzheng and Qianlong dynasties in the 18th century in the Famille Rose pattern. The saucer has a diameter of 5 inches and is 1 ¼ inches high. The cup is 2 inches high and the opening has a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. Both pieces are double walled and reticulated. The cup features a figural handle of a lizard. The interior of the cup and surface of the saucer are hand enameled with flowers and foliage nearly identical to the original Chinese design. The intricate design around the borders is precisely the same. The porcelain on the bottom of each piece is molded with a blossom. This porcelain tea cup and saucer was produced in England by Chelsea between 1756 and 1769. It has a gold anchor painted over the glaze. There are many copies of the gold anchor mark used through the decades but we guarantee that this cup and saucer is authentic. The saucer has a diameter of 4 5/8 inches and the cup is 2 1/2 inches high. The ground color is burgundy. Reserves of hand painted flowers decorate both pieces. Rich tooled gilding frame the reserves. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. CONDITION: There is slight wear and some scratches to the burgundy ground on the saucer. The gold rim on the cup has touches of wear at high points. These flaws are very minor when age and rarity are taken into consideration. There are no other defects or restoration.
