The saucer is 4 1/4 inches in diameter and is 7/8 of an inch deep. The cup is 2 inches high with a diameter of 2 inches. The cup is can shaped with a squared handle. The saucer is deep, without a well. Both pieces are expertly hand painted with sprays of garden variety flowers you will recognize. The colors are bright and eye catching. The rims and handle are trimmed with gold. Condition: Excellent, first quality, without defects of any kind.

The high relief molded design is known as “New Brandenstein”. The borders have a basket weave connected to wavy lines spreading across the porcelain. This 3 piece porcelain tea cup, saucer and dessert plate was produced in Germany by the Helena Wolfsohn Dresden studio in the 1890s. The plate is 7 1/2 inches in diameter, the saucer is 4 7/8 inches in diameter and the cup is 1 3/4 inches high with a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The fluted porcelain blanks were made in Bohemia by Ohme. The porcelain is highly translucent, delicate and scalloped on the edges. Bright panels of yellow alternate with panels of tiny colorful flowers. Lacy gold borders trim the rimes and handle. You will enjoy displaying or having a cup of tea from this delightful, dainty set. This porcelain tea cup was made in Germany by a Up-scale Dresden decorator in the 1890s. The saucer has a diameter of 5 5/8 inches. The cup is 2 inches tall with a diameter of 3 5/8 inches. The cup is wide at the top and tapers towards the middle. The ground color is iridescent green. There is a reserve on the front of the cup with a Watteau scene of lovers in a garden setting. The painting is extremely fine and very colorful. It is surrounded by a ring of raised gold beads or jewels. The rest of the cup has fine gold trellis work, swags of gold flowers and ribbons, all in raised gold. The decoration on the saucer is identical. The fine quality of workmanship and style is indicative of Donath Dresden. The use of the gilded flower covering the maker’s mark of the porcelain is also typical of their work. Condition: Excellent with slight gold wear.

The location of this scene is written on the bottom of the cup “Ruine Trinberg bie Kissingen” translated Trinberg ruins near Kissingen. The saucer measures 5 5/8 inches in diameter. The cup is 3 1/4 inches tall with a diameter of 3 1/8 inches. The cup has a hand painted scene of castle ruins spanning a hillside. There are mountain and treed landscape in the surrounding vista. Two figures are in the foreground, viewing the scene. It is painted in fine detail, almost photographic in quality. The interior of the cup is gilded to the bottom. The saucer is richly gilded and has a gold medallion in the well. The foot of the cup and handle are gilded. This is a historical record of the past that has been well preserved. Condition: Excellent.
