WWI Original Painting Artist J. B. Lomack American,1888-1980, A beautiful watercolor Gouache and charcoal measuring 29 x 22“, frame size 42 x 34“
James Bishop Lomack was born in 1888 in Washington D.C. and died in 1980 in Washington D.C. He studied at Howard University after World War I. In his lifetime he created many murals for Washington D.C. institutions, including scenes from black history for Howard University. He served in the military in France during World War I, and attended officer's training school, becoming one of the Army's first black commissioned officers.
