Robert founded Eickholt Glass in 1978 when he returned home to Columbus, Ohio, after studying glassblowing in Berkeley, California. After returning to Ohio, he continued his studies at Ohio State and the Columbus College of Art and Design. Each piece is handmade one at a time and unique. Eickholt is known for his distinctive designs, which incorporate precious metals including gold and silver, rare oxides like cobalt and copper, and dichroic glass. His beautiful studio glass has earned accolades worldwide. Although Eickholt retired from glass blowing in 2013, his glass art continues to be in high demand.
