Offered is a stunning vintage Steven Main optical glass perfume bottle with a blue glass chamber encased in transparent, clear glass with spiraling red stripes and a simple round clear glass stopper. The bottle is 6 5/8 " tall by 2 1/8 " wide, in excellent condition with no chips, scuffs, or repairs noted and signed and dated on the bottom, as shown. Steve Main (Born 1951) first studied glassblowing with Henry Halem at Kent State University in the 1970s. That education, plus over thirty years of experimentation and innovation in the studio, has led to award-winning work. Fascinated by the immediacy and fluidity inherent in the glassblowing process, Main works in a series format that allows his ideas to evolve as he explores how different colors of glass interact. Main's work often references nature, although he enjoys that people interpret his work according to their own experiences. What is important to him is to capture the viewer's imagination.
