Offered is a Jonathan Winfisky "Overlay" studio glass perfume bottle with a pale green glass chamber encased in shaped flowing clear glass and a long clear glass tear-drop stopper. The bottle is 6 ½ "tall, including the stopper, by 2 3/8 "wide, signed and dated on the base as shown, and in excellent condition, with no chips, scuffs, or repairs noted. Born in 1955 in Massachusetts, Jonathan Winfisky graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a degree in glass sculpture in 1978. Winfisky has produced unique sculptural glass vessels, including perfume bottles, since 1973. His pieces are known for their sensual shapes, simple lines, and jewel-like colors embedded within clear glass. Inspired by the landscape in western Massachusetts and the sensual, spontaneous nature of hot glass art, each piece is created by hand in a renovated 100-year-old barn in the Berkshire Mountains that serves as Winfisky's studio and gallery. Winfisky exhibits his glass art nationally. He is a member of the Glass Art Society and the Corning Museum of Glass and has been honored with a grant from the Ford Foundation.
