Offered is a vintage Tim Lazer hand-blown studio glass perfume bottle with two polished windows, a green chamber with a swirling gold leaf pattern encased in clear glass with an iridescent finish, and a faceted stopper. The bottle is 5 ½“ tall, including the stopper, by 2 3/4“wide, in excellent condition, with minor scratches on the bottom consistent with age and light use, and no other scratches, chips, or repairs noted. The bottle is signed and dated ‘97 on the bottom, as shown. Tim Lazer approaches his art with love for the medium, skill, and the knowledge that the ephemeral nature of hot glass will always present a challenge. His philosophy about the nature of his art is continuously evolving, and his work often takes new forms. He studied at Cal State Fullerton, where he often spent 60 hours per week perfecting his craft. He experimented with fusing metals and off-hand glass blowing. He also worked with iridescent, opalescent, opaque, and transparent glass. His studies at the Corning Museum Glass Center with Italian master Lino Tagliapietra have greatly influenced his work. He uses layers of glass, glass powders, and precious metals fused onto the glass surface to achieve a lustrous, iridescent, opalescent, opaque, or transparent piece. Working from his Sacramento, California studio, Tim combines beauty and function to produce vases, platters, perfume bottles, paperweights, and ornaments.
