Offered is a hand-blown colorless Sommerso perfume bottle by Roger Gandelman with a slanted base, multi-colored controlled bubbles, and a 24-carat gold luster finish. The bottle has a transparent 24-carat gold luster finish chamber visible through two oval faceted windows and is 4 ½ " tall, including the clear teardrop stopper, and 2 5/8" wide. It is signed and dated near the base as shown and in excellent condition, with no chips, cracks, or repairs noted. Roger Gandelman is a glass artist known worldwide for his uniquely beautiful art glass perfume bottles. He works alone in his small art glass studio, founded in 1974. Early in his career, Gandelman created various functional glass pieces but eventually focused exclusively on creating perfume bottles. His dedication to his artistic vision is so strong that he typically turns down exhibition offers and commissioned work to remain focused on making his signature perfume bottles. He works quietly and meticulously. Prized by art glass collectors for their transcendent beauty, his work is known for precision, attention to detail, and exquisite beauty. His pieces have been shown in several prestigious museums, including the Smithsonian Museum, the Discovery Museum of Art, and the High Museum of Art, and featured in numerous art exhibitions worldwide.
