 SOLD - Thank you!
Rare and fabulous - how often do you stumble upon a massive Graziella Laffi bracelet? - this is a true museum quality vintage Peruvian piece bearing the signature of the country's foremost designer. Its unsurpassed craftsmanship and stunning design explains in the best way possible the reasons for which Laffi is referred to as "the Spratling of Peru". Born in Florence, Italy she lived in Peru and drew inspiration from ancient Inca goldwork to create masterpieces in silver that combined ancient design with the minimalism of 1950s modernism. The cuff is simply splendid - please note the almost pristine oxidation of the hand-hammered silver, the perfectly cut and finished appliques of condors and fish and the intense color of the turquoise cabs. Laffi even had the turquoise in the fish's eye carved out in the middle to look more natural. The cuff has an inner circumference of 7 3/8" (measuring at the cuff's center; the upper circumference is slightly longer and the lower a little shorter so that the bracelet conform to the shape of your arm when you have it on). I wouldn't advise trying to stretch it in any way because it is made of thick gauge silver and doing so might force the appliques to pop off. Its height is between 1 7/8" in the middle front and 1 3/4" at the two edges and it weighs 70.8 grams. Marked "LAFFI" and "PERU 925" it dates in the 1950s and is in excellent vintage condition.
