He was a painter, a teacher and an ardent traveler. In 1917, he came to America and settled in Rockport, MA where he established and taught at the Thieme School of Art. Robert Brackman (Born Odessa, Russia 1898; Died Roank, CT 1980). “Still Life on White”. Oil on Canvas. Signed Lower Right and on Rear (with title). Dimensions; site 19.5"wide x 15.5"high, with gilt frame 27"wide x 22"high. Brackman studied at the National Academy of Design and was a long time teacher at the Art Students League of NY and elsewhere. His paintings are in many Museum Collections.

Fischer was born in Munich Germany, and came to NY in 1903; he died in Woodstock NY. He studied at the Academie Julien, Paris, 1906-1908. He exhibited in many museums, including the Brandywine River Museum, in PA.

George Philbert Charles Maroniez, French (1865-1933). Oil on Canvas; "Surf". Signed G Maroniez, Lower Right. Gilt frame. Dimensions; 18" x 15"; site 10" x 8". Excellent condition. George Maroniez was a member of the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1889, and started exhibiting there when he was just 22. He won several awards and was made Knight of the Legion of Honor.
