Vintage, intricately constructed 970 sterling silver and amethyst cabochon bracelet designed & signed circa 1950's by Taxco, Mexico modernist artist Antonio Pineda(1919-2009). Each of the large 6 egg shaped amethysts are framed in a silver band and suspended above a silver cupped platform drawing reflected light through the deep rich colors of the gem quality stones. The bracelet has a wearable length of 6 3/4 inches. The stones are graduated in size with the largest being 1 1/8" long. All stones are in gorgeous condition with no chips or flaws. Slide in clasp and safety chain are tight and secure. Fully hallmarked on the clasp. This design is rarely seen in this large 6 stone format. A museum piece, the bracelet is pictured on p. 144 SILVER SEDUCTION: THE ART OF MEXICAN MODERNIST ANTONIO PINEDA. This bracelet is a true masterpiece of wearable art.
