Description:

A bronze bodhisattva sitting on a lion was the legendary Mañjuśrī who using the wisdom to tame the mind.
In perfect condition, the bronze figure was heavily cast and preserved in dark patina.
By the characteristics of the metal quality which in rough feel, the high crown on top, the slender and long fingers, the bulging facial features and the abstract old-looking lion underneath, he was dated as an ancient deity from Yuan Dynasty, and most likely was from NanShao, Dali Kingdom of Yunnan areas.
It was a very rare religious bronze piece survived from that area.

Date: Yuan Dynasty, 13th century or earlier.

Height: 21.6cm, Width: 14.2cm, Depth:8.5cm.

Weight:1844gram.
