Description: A Zitan cup was well carved from one solid wood trunk.
Being decorated on two handles in bamboo form, the Zitan cup was well hollowed in a round shape and was in a plain form.
By excellent carving skill, the bamboo stalks were vividly imitated and being as good handles.
It was preserved in long time of age and already owned the enduring old purplish-black patina.
Overall condition was great when some old cracks were observed.
Some abrasions were at the bottom too.
It was most likely being used as a water basin on a scholar’s desk.

Date: Qing Dynasty,18th/19th century.

Width: 10.2cm, Height: 3.9cm.
