A vintage modernist necklace with a textured and polished silver pendant on what looks like the original chain by the master sculptor and artist from Ecuador, Oswaldo Guayasamin. Has 5 dangles suspended from the bottom and a central polished concave disk dangling from the center.
The central pendant measures 1 1/4" across and 2 1/2" long with the large bales and dangles. The chain measures about 25" long and has a secure hook closure. This appears to be the original chain because the shape used for the bales is also used in the chain.
The pendant is marked with the stylized Guayasamin on the back. His silver work is usually 900 silver or better.
Fine condition with minor scratches and a little tarnish.
Interesting piece.
