Antique Persian Safavid textile brocaded with silk and gold. Lined with a later 19th century brocade. Approximately 26" square.

Brocade lined signed Japanese lidded basket circa 1910-1920 by Suzuki Gengensai (1891-1950). In beautiful condition (the silk brocade lining has deteriorated). Signed on the underside. Works by this artist are in the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the San Francisco Asian Art Museum. Please ask for additional photos.

Antique (19th Century) Central or Western Anatolian prayer or altar kilim, in beautiful condition. 3'4" by 7'2". All natural dyes, complete sides and ends. Two well done old repairs lower left. From a design standpoint this kilim is arranged like an Obruk kilim (the pointed hooked mirhab topped with a tree of life design, and flanked in the spandrels by two more such designs). However the color palette and the feel are not typically Obruk. From a Charlotte, NC estate.

Antique South Persian rug, Khamseh federation, measuring 53" x 95", in excellent untouched condition. This rug has the characteristic floppy handle one expects from the best of its type. Natural dyes.

Rare antique Persian Kubachi ware bowl or charger featuring two peacocks in a garden and racing horses on its outer rim. Heavy cracquelure as expected in such a piece. 15 1/2" in diameter and 3" deep.

Beautiful antique prayer Baluch carpet, last quarter of the 19th Century, offered in basically perfect condition, with full pile and complete sides and ends. This camel ground tree of life prayer rug measures 65" by 34". All the dyes appear natural.

Oversize (almost 18" tall) double-gourd shaped Kinkozan Satsuma vase, circa 1880. This outstanding vase is signed (appears to read: "Dai Nihon--Kinkozan Tsukuru"). This vase was repaired early in its career with four metal staples. An extremely rare form. Displays a wonderful tension between the formal middle apron and the zen-like top and bottom.

Early Historic Period Khmer (Cambodia) large kendi jar, 2nd to 8th Century. Pale yellow ware with parallel red lines on rim, neck, and shoulder. Roughly 9 1/2" high by 11 1/2" across. Repair to the spout. For similar examples see "Khmer Ceramics; Beauty and Meaning" by Dawn Rooney, pp. 178-179. One of three similar pieces currently available. Please inquire.

Early Historic Period Khmer (Cambodia) large kendi jar, 2nd to 8th Century, pale yellow ware with traces of pigment remaining on the neck. Roughly 10" high by 11 1/2" across. Ko Kutani "mountain bowl" enameled in yellow, aubergine, green and blue with a mountain landscape. Fu Ku mark. Edo/Tokugawa period. 8 1/2 across, 3 1/2" high. One of two of this type currently available.

Qing Dynasty Chinese Dehua Blanc de Chine porcelain tripod incense burner on carved stand. Figural tripod supports and elephant head handles. One leg repaired.

19th century Japanese Imari charger with figures of samurai on a vivid red enamel ground. 18 1/2" in diameter.

Extremely rare funerary spool-shaped terracotta vessel created by the Akan people of Ghana, 19th-20th century, with incised simple geometric decoration. A very large example of this rare pottery form (15" in diameter, 7" high) believed to have been created to honor the dead in "places of pots" or asensie.

French Art Deco vase made by CAB (Ceramique d'Art de Bordeaux) for Ovington, New York, circa 1920. Incised "CAB", "323"?, and "Made in France" in a square, also inscribed "Ovington New York" and "France". 7 1/2" high and 7" across. In excellent condition. 19th century Japanese Ko-Kutani bowl with painted mountain landscape. Fuku mark.

Rare complete single bag (small saddlebag or large chanteh) from the Luri-Bakhtiyari tribes of West Persia, last quarter of the 19th Century. This rare weaving measures 19.5" by 17" and is in nearly mint condition, with full pile and complete piled closure system, tassels and original side finishes. All dyes are natural, including a great purple and apricot. Nice flatweave back with patterning in weft wrap technique typical of Luri/Bakhtiyari work.

Antique Kurdish bagface or bagfront, dating from the last quarter of the nineteenth Century, offered in beautiful condition with full pile and all natural dyes. This saddlebag face measures 1'10" by 1'8" (57cms by 52cms). For the collector of Kurdish and other Oriental tribal trappings and rugs.
