Lay-Away Items may be placed on Lay-Away at the full listing price (if the item is over $150) by paying 1/2 of the purchase price (see payment terms above) and then paying 1/2 in 30 days. Description: Rimmed top & bottom in black, hand enameled. Quite innovative in design. This bracelet features turquoise, coral, emerald and cranberry highlights framed by a continuous cream swirl against a cream background. Original safety chain. Circa. 1955-1970.

In 1973, and again in 1974, the company showed full color ads of their "Artist’s Series". These have no rhinestones, but feature geometric and abstract designs in enamel. According to Harrice Miller’s books (especially her second edition) some of the artists providing inspiration were: Braque, Miro, Chargill, Calder, Vesarely, Picasso and Pucci.

Sometimes this jewelry was made in sets including bracelets, pendants, pins, earrings, and rings. The color combinations were blue, turquoise, and green, also tan, orange, and brown, plus other variations. Some are solid brick red with black lines; others look as if the painted design was an oriental word. The enamel completely covered the metal. One of the ads states that it was baked 27 times!

The fleur de lis (flower of the lily) is a heraldic symbol of French royalty. It is still used in flags and most often in jewelry. It has a prestigious history as a symbol of kings, worn by Crusaders into battle, and an emblem of the flag of St. Joan of Arc. Today it is the symbol of the city of New Orleans and is proudly embraced in the rebuilding efforts.

This fleur de lis has an enamel center over brass and is used separately as a pin or as a watch holder. It is 1 1/4" x 1" .
