Features ornately detailed carved dragon head handles as well as motifs of mythical phoenix birds of good fortune and connection the creative force of Earth and Nature. Circa 1890s. This elegant Japanese Meiji period bronze jardiniere features finely chased birds, trees and scrolling on the sides and lion-head feet. Circa 1890. h. 8 1/2" diameter w. 7 1/2" d. 7 1/2".
