18th century hand chased Georgian silver toddy ladle embossed with festoons, birds, flowers and a shield bearing the beautifully engraved initials "EC". These ladles were used to serve toddy from a serving rummer or punch bowl and ideal for warming brandy. The twisted whalebone handle affords a better grip and has a silver end cap. This antique serving spoon from the Georgian era has a berry motif in the gold-washed interior of the bowl (the wash is very pale and doesn’t show up in the photos). By its hallmarks, it was made in London during 1768-1769. The maker’s mark is a script “BB”. It measures 8-1/2" x 1-3/4", and weighs approximately 56g. So beautiful! The French-style blades are unusually long in relation to the pearl handles--a proportion that gives this set a particularly elegant appeal. The blades are marked with a "12" designating the highest quality of 19th century American silverplate. Pearl handled knives are more frequently found in the larger dinner size.

A very good first standard (950/1000 pure) silver small-size tastevin by the highly regarded Dijon silversmith Marc Parrod. This example retains the classic round shape with a convex bottom, but the usual "godrons" and "cupules" are replaced by repoussé grape clusters alternating with "cupules". This is an elegant set of 6 Art Nouveau sterling silver strawberry forks, American, ca. 1910, maker unidentified, marked "B" and sterling; beautifully decorated with a single hand chased poppy and fabulous Art Nouveau trailing leaf and stem motif on both front and back; perfect for serving h'ors d'oeuvres, too; condition: excellent; measurement: 4 _ inches.
Large sterling silver berry spoon in Blackinton's 1900 "Nautilus" pattern. The handle is elegantly decorated with scrolls and shells, and nicely complements the lobed bowl. The reverse is marked with Blackinton's hallmark.
