A nicely made large quilt in the triple Irish chain pattern from the late 19th century. The chains made of small squares of yellow, red and green pattern printed cotton. The double red border is of the same red printed pattern. There are seeds visible in the filling between the backing and the jam side. The quilting in the white squares is a feather wreath enclosing four hearts or possibly a four leaf clover. The white border between the two lines of red is quilted with tulips...

This is a lovely piece of 18th C European needlework, brilliant true-colored, made of vegetable dyed threads on very fine open weave homespun linen, having pulled work in the flower centers, metallic threads within the flower stems and a symmetrical block pattern, Spanish or Italian, likely a piece of curtain or clothing; Condition: Good with some stitch loss framed in glass with blue matting which does not do this piece justice, measures 12 1/2" x 15 1/2 "

A fine cotton exemplar textile fragment from Perugia, Italy, dating back to the 16th century. Foliage and mythological figures, distinctive themes used in Perugia, cover the piece which has been carefully mounted on a cotton covered board.

Overall condition is very fine, with some minor and easily cleaned surface dirt. The size is 21" by 9".

his is a doll quilt with knotted and tied quilting with cotton filling. It is a warm brown and tan color. It has a stain on the under side that looks like rust. It has no rips or tears. It is 15" by 17" and is circa 1890-1900.

A pieced cotton quilt in a pattern called, “Goose on the pond” probably from the mid-West and made in the late 19th century. The pattern is made up of pattern printed blue, orange and white fabrics. The same orange fabric is used throughout, but the blue and white are made up of different prints. The quilting is diagonal lines. Cotton seeds in the stuffing visible through the back. Rare complete single bag (small saddlebag or large chanteh) from the Luri-Bakhtiyari tribes of West Persia, last quarter of the 19th Century. This rare weaving measures 19.5" by 17" and is in nearly mint condition, with full pile and complete piled closure system, tassels and original side finishes. All dyes are natural, including a great purple and apricot. Nice flatweave back with patterning in weft wrap technique typical of Luri/Bakhtiyari work.

Nice early blue and white cotton homespun handkerchief that has been used and loved and survived pretty well considering it is about 200 years old. It is a strong medium weight cotton with a nice sky blue dye giving nice contrast to the white. Two sides had overcast stitches but one side has lost the stitches giving it frayed appearance and the other two sides are hemmed. The initials are SGS. It has one tiny little discoloration spot...

This work towel is made for use but is also very beautiful. I think it is linen one way and cotton the other way. (warp and weft). It has a feel and sheen of linen but also has the flat look of cotton. It is in very good condition, has the original loop for hanging it up, and is hemmed on both sides of the towel. The initials are sewn with a brown floss and I think the initials are MLW. The width is 15 ", length 42". It is supple yet sturdy and had a wonderful rustic country look...
