A crisply molded and clean American pressed or pattern glass celery vase in the Jubilee pattern, issued by McKee circa 1898. This 6-1/4" ruffled edge vase is also known as Hickman or LaClede, and it was also made by the Diamond Flint Glass Co. of Canada and appeared in the 1898 Eaton's Jubilee catalogue. A very nice Victorian tartanware paper knife in the form of a pocket knife. The cover is in the McBeth tartan. The folding blade is carved from bone or ivory (the blade is too thin to be able to tell with certainty). Tartanware became popular in the mid-19th century because of Queen Victoria's fascination with Scotland. The colorful plaids were transformed into an enormous array of objects for daily use.

A wonderful and very desirable example of an 8-sided Lowestoft tea caddy, or canister. Painted with a flower bouquet and sprays beneath a border of flowerheads and foliate scrolls, the top having flowers and leaves.

The caddy is 3 1/2 inches tall and 3 inches in diameter, and is in superb condition, with no cracks, chips, or restoration. The only tiny blemish of any type is a 3/16" long glaze split at the top of the rim, clearly occurring during manufacture...

An Excellent Porcelain Armorial Inkstand or Deskset, made by Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, circa 1880. In a Rectangular Shape, with Two Inkwells, with Inserts. Dimensions; 10.25" wide x 7,75" deep x 3.5" high. In excellent shape, except for a slight chip on on of the inkwell tops (see picture). There is no mark on the underside, but it is definitely Samson, based on other items we have recently posted.

This fanciful Art Nouveau style brass desk box was originally made to hold stamps but would be a great place to store a special ring, cufflinks or a secret. Rectangular shaped, standing on four feet, the hinged cover has a centered sunflower surrounded by leaves and vines, two compartments inside, unmarked. Measures 3 in. x 1 5/8 in. x 1 1/4 in. high. Condition is near perfect.

A Porcelain Armorial Plate made by Edme Samson et Cie, Paris, featuring the Jackson Family Crest. It is marked "Jsckson" on the back and "Ovington Brothers, New York" (old Fifth Avenue Retailer). Dimensions; 9" in diameter x 1" high. Circa 1890 and in excellent condition.

A set of three scarce 4" footed green pressed glass nappies or small bowls in the Daisy & Button with Thumbprint Panel, introduced by Adams & Co., Pittsburgh in 1886. These lovely mint green pattern glass nappies are in very good original condition with no cracks, losses, damage or repairs other than the expected edge roughness and minor chipping (largest shown)...

This is a rare well modeled and detailed 19th century porcelain elephant by Samson. It is based upon an outstanding 1680 Japanese Kakiemon model, which, in turn, was derived from Chinese prototypes. The piece is eleven inches in height and is enameled in red and cobalt.

Condition: Excellent, no chips, hairlines or repairs.

A nice Bohemian mercury tapered columnar-form mercury glass vase, the sides engraved through a bright red flashing to the silver. The pattern depicts a bird nesting among exotic flower and foliage. The design is accented with applied white lines. The silvering is not in as good condition as one would hope, but the very bright red flashing and the generous size more than makes up for it!

A nice pair of Georgian English sterling 5-5/8" sugar tongs with elegant bright cut decoration. These tongs were made by Thomas Wallis and Jonathan Hayne in London, England 1816-17; they weigh 24.5 grams, they have an S over WxM monogram, and they are in excellent original condition with no dents, bends, corrosion, losses, damage or repairs. Spectacular and extremely rare Giant size antique Buddha Figure dressed in royal robes, lacquer intricately inlaid with inset flat glass/mirror mosaics backed with colored foil and further decorated with moulded relief work forming beautiful spirals. The Buddha seated in "bhumisparshamudra" (subduing Mara), his left hand rests palm upward, on his lap, and the right hand rests on his right knee, calling the Earth to witness...

This magnificent handcrafted Art Nouveau figural brass letter opener is the nicest one I have seen, with intricate detailed "Spirit of Life" maiden wearing a flowing, draped gown, one arm resting on back of head, the other catching her windswept gown, standing on a base of sinewy bark surrounded by clover, circa 1890's, very heavy. Measurements: 10 in. high. Condition is near perfect.

Desk decorating? Can't duplicate this original Victorian set of large nickel plated newspaper cutting scissors and letter opener with matching sheath in the style of WMF, circa 1900, the handles and sheath of beautifully cast with Art Nouveau style; blades are steel-cut and marked "Schnefel Bros, Germany;" condition: sheath case and handles in excellent condition, some minor nicks; measurement:, 11 3/4 inches in sheath. Letter opener- 8 3/8 in high.

A pair of pressed glass horn epergne or car flower vases from the 1910 era. Made with a loop for suspension from an epergne, a table decorative centerpiece, or a mount in an automobile, these 6-3/4" long unsigned vases measure 2-1/2" across the opening; they are in excellent original condition with no chips, cracks, losses, damage or repairs...

This is not your typical cloisonne. The beautiful Chinese vase is one of the best quality that I have personaly owned in many years. Notice the 8 graceful cranes,chrysanthemums and other flowers. The colors are bright. I have been told that this vase is pre 1900. THERE IS NO DAMAGE ON THIS ITEM. IT IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION and sits on a wooden rosewood base.

A delightful and rare Victorian tartanware egg timer covered in an unidentified red, green, black and yellow. The top and bottom plates are in an unusual horseshoe shape. The posts are covered in tartan, as well. Exposed areas of wood are ebonized. The tartan is not named, and the piece is marked “Made in Scotland”. The timer measures exactly 3 mins.

A pretty Victorian maple swing-handle sewing basket, the interior lined with colorful pleated silk plaid. The bottom, upper frame and handles are constructed of maple, and the spindles forming the sides of the basket are ebonized.

Origin: America, ca. 1900. Condition: excellent, except for a narrow age split in the wood at one end of the upper frame. Size: 8-1/8" x 5-3/4" x 9" high.
